In an era when "young lions" are sought after and extolled, often before they are ready with formed music, it is extremely gratifying to hear a young group of musicians who are dedicated to finding and developing a group sound. Recording with "When Granny Sleeps" was like having a fine dinner and overnight stay with a warm and hospitable family of a friend. They had their music together and well rehearsed; they knew what they wanted from me (and Ben on keyboards); and they allowed me to do what I do best. The music itself had memories of the period when I was with Miles Davis in the 1970s – a certain kind of funky looseness with the guitar front and center a lot of the time. This band, if they stay together will definitely make some waves. Meanwhile, you will really have fun with this music. David Liebman.
Anders Mogensen (drums), Kasper Tranberg (trumpet), Ben Besiakow (fender rhodes & organ), David Liebman (sop. sax); Nils Davidsen (electric & acoustic bass), Niclas Knudsen (guitar).
