“It’s nice to see this man finally appreciated with this book”. Bill Wyman & Charlie Watts.

At the age of 80 Anders Stefansen looks back at his life and times. He started out early presenting jazz concerts all over Denmark, Scandinavia and Europe, booked for the famous Jazzhus Montmartre and ran his own club Slukefter at Tivoli Gardens. He also produced the Henry Miller movie: ‘Quiet Days In Clichy’, had successes in the theatre and founded one of the first new French cuisine restaurants in Copenhagen, Anatole. Bunk Monk & Funk is his colorful tale of growing up in an amusement park and the first travels through post-war Europe in search of the new swinging music.

Newport Festival originator George Wein: “Reading this book is reading the history of jazz presentation in Europe from 1960 until the present. Anders, in addition to presenting every major name in jazz, promoted a scope of music that ranged from the Rolling Stones to Andrés Segovia”.
