Jimmy Dawkins is one of a kind. He is very well known to audiences both in the US as well as in Europe. In Europe especially for his appearance with the Chicago Blues Festival. He has recorded several albums for Delmark and for the French label Black And Blue. Returning to Chicago in the company of his collaborators Dawkins immediately went to Ma Bea’s, the small club where his career actually started, and this is the locality where the present album was recorded back in 1975. Followers of the Chicago blues style as it was performed in the last half of the 1970s now has another opportunity to enjoy the playing and singing of Jimmy Dawkins on this his second album for MCM/Storyville.
