Here is Magic Slim's second album in the Storyville/MCM blues series, recorded on November 9th, 1976 at "Ma Bea's" on the West Side of Chicago. It was the first opportunity for this great bluesman to record extensively and give the full measure of his talent. As a matter of fact, apart from two or three singles for small labels, no one in the U.S.A. had given him his chance before these dates. Indeed, the promotion of such an artist was entirely within MCM's calling and its success subsequently brought about Magic Slimes tours of America and Europe and further recordings. Today, blues fans universally appreciate Magic Slim and MCM can be congratulated for having made a significant contribution to his renown.
Magic Slim (gui & vo), Nick Holt (b), Douglas Holt (dr), Alabama Junior Pettis (gui).
