Danish master pianist Niels Lan Doky is now releasing his album The Target in a remastered version ensuring crystal clear sound using modern technology.

The Target was originally released in 1987 as Lan Doky’s second album as a bandleader. The Target features the late great Danish bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and one of the most consistently inventive jazz percussionists, the legendary Jack DeJohnette. The album showcases a young, fresh-faced Lan Doky, only 23 years old, proving his remarkable talent and astonishingly musical maturity. The musical collaboration results in a trio conception that’s remarkably unified based on a first meeting.

Lan Doky states: “The album was recorded in Woodstock at the end of 1986 with Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Jack DeJohnette on drums. A real dream team. I’m incredibly proud of the album. It’s my second album and I was very young at the time and nervous playing with the two legends. I’m very excited about the new remastered version.”
