Besides being an exciting and historic live recording made of the well travelled band's first tour in eastern Europe, this session from Dresden, 1971, reveals an important change, after 15 years in existence, in the musical style of Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband. Banjo player Bjarne Petersen had just been replaced by pianist Jørn Jensen, giving the excellent, highly inspired musicality of the band a more modern sound and style (which persists to this day), thanks to Jensen’s excellent arrangements and stronger emphasis on swinging. This live recording clearly transmits the enthusiasm of both the band and the audience on this historic occasion.
