This 67-minute CD (10 tracks) is comprised of portions of six different live and studio sessions recorded between 1966 and 1982. The repertoire consists of some of Bent Jædig’s favorite tunes and composers, including compositions by Rogers & Hart, the Gershwin Bros., Duke Ellington, Ahmad Jamal, and Jimmy Heath, among others – a great diversity of genres, yet all performed in Jædig’s unmistakable be-bop style. Accompanying Jædig on this CD are some of Europe’s premier musicians, including Tete Montoliu, Allan Botschinsky, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Mads Vinding. Bent Jædig is Denmark’s ”original be-bopper”, the first Danish jazz musician to completely embrace this style of jazz (in the early 50’s), and is still going strong, anno 2003. Jædig’s style is completely his own – very personal, soulful and straightforward, and drenched in be-bop.
