This 1984 live session from New Orleans is a showcase of the wonderful and exciting music (unique to Louisiana) known as zydeco – a special blend of blues, folk and r & b, led by an accordian and using a washboard to keep the rhythm, and often featuring vocals sung in a local French dialect. By the time this CD was recorded, Rockin’ Dopsie was Louisiana’s premier zydeco musician. All in all, 47 minutes of very soulful, seductive music representing a unique American musical genre.

Alton Jay Rubin (Rockin’Dopsie) – accordion & vocal + The Zydeco Twisters incl. John Hart – saxophone
