This is mostly good time music, yet there is more in it than first meets the eye, or ear. For a start its not dixieland but is very much in the New Orleans tradition, as this performance of 'Aunt Hagar' shows. Despite the enthusiastic yelling of the audiences at the Club Hangover over forty years ago, This was a carefully rehearsed band in it's prime, understated and concentrating on essentials.
