The music is comprised of traditional folk tunes, plus one Swarbrick original. Dave Swarbrick originally played with the well-known Ian Campbell Folk Group, and was a member of the famous folk-rock group Fairport Convention at the time of this recording. Dave Swarbrick’s rowdy style and fine, jazz-tinged violin playing are a joy to hear. The style of the music is passionate and earthy. Dave Swarbrick is an outstanding example of the British folk revival of the 70’s, and one of the first to leave England for the European continent, where he wound up settling in Denmark.
