Volume Four in this chronological series of Mills Brothers recordings consists of 24 tunes recorded while The Mills Brothers – the most famous American vocal group ever – were at the peak of their international popularity. Besides their beautiful, perfectly-blended harmonies, The Mills Brothers were famous for their wonderful vocal imitations of musical instruments. It was during this period – in February 1936- that John Mills, Jr. died and was replaced by his father, John Mills, Senior. A very special feature of this collection is the inclusion of two vocals by Ella Fitzgerald and six by Louis Armstrong (also playing trumpet), with The Mills Brothers contributing only the "instrumental” accompaniment.
