“I have always thought of Christmas time, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely.”

Internationally acclaimed singer, pianist and songwriter Joe Stilgoe is set to release a classic Christmas album this Winter, complete with star-studded line up, big band songs, Christmas choirs and fireside yuletide lullabies.

Stilgoe is joined by a host of special guests for a feast of Christmas classics, including Grammy nominated saxophonist Amy Dickson on ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’, the Canterbury Cathedral Girls Choir on ‘Rest in Peace’, iconic Jazz musician and son of Roy- Ben Castle on ‘Little White Berry’ and legendary comedian and actor Rob Brydon on ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’.
Stilgoe introduces two original songs to the festive collection- sure to become seasonal favourites for years to come. Uptempo festive party tune ‘The Night Before’ showcases his versatile vocals and outstanding collection of musicians, whilst the powerful festive ballad ‘December Lights’ conjures the magical Christmas spirit.

On the subject of Christmas, Stilgoe says “I’ve wanted to make a Christmas album ever since I became a musician, and probably even before that. Christmas was always my favourite time of year, and though my beliefs have changed over the years and I don’t consider getting a Spiderman costume the pinnacle of my life anymore, I still look forward to it with the same excitement as I did when I was 5 years old. I love how people change at Christmas time- it’s a time for thinking about others and for generosity of time and energy, and this is reflected in the rising of spirits and the desire to share time with friends and family. This, from ‘A Christmas Carol’, sums it up perfectly.
