Of the four elements in music, I believe that melody and rhythm are the stronger, to which harmony and strict form must yield. The ear tends to follow the melody if it’s strong enough, no matter how far it may wander from the key and harmony of the tune. Frederik Lundin I am a great admirer of the lyrics written in the singer-songwriter tradition, lyrics that tell a story and grew out of context. This is why I have made no effort to write “timeless” lyrics, but on the contrary tried to link the words with our time and with the lives of the people I see when I turn or look over my shoulder.
